A Message from Dr. Vicki

We invite you to explore our educational programs and the philosophy in which we use to teach our curriculum. We take play seriously, because play that is designed to teach your child self-confidence forms the building blocks for reading, writing and logical thinking. Our curriculum provides the tools needed for elementary school and beyond.

I began this career as a young mother who couldn't bear to leave her child everyday, so I changed careers and become an early childhood teacher. Through those early years, I became active in the National Association of Education for Young Children (NAEYC), resulting in an appointment of President of Florida's NAEYC chapter. During that time, I continued my education, and for the next thirteen years graduated with a Bachelor's in Arts and Education from Florida Atlantic University, a Master's degree in Childcare Management from Nova Southeastern University (NSU) and obtained my doctorate in education studies (Ed.D) from NSU.

Dr. Vicki, A Lifetime of Experience

Dr Vicki Folds

I served for over fifteen years on the Florida NAEYC board and became one of the first Florida validators for NAEYC's Accreditation Academy. It was an honor to work with those that created the original NAEYC national accreditation program. My interests also led me to become a representative for the Child Development Associate (CDA), which certifies early childhood teachers with a national credential. The CDA credential is only issued through the Council for Professional Recognition in Washington DC. For COA I've designed and created an in-house training program so that our teachers may obtain the CDA credential via our in-house instruction. My prior experience with the council convinced me that this national credential should become one of our Professional Development choices.

I started my career as a Pre-K teacher moved into management as a Principal and then finally into the private sector where I wrote and managed the educational programs for schools owned worldwide. I remained in the private sector for thirteen years where I completed both my Master and Doctorate's degrees.

During this period, I was also an adjunct professor for St. Thomas University, Nova Southeastern University, Broward College and Palm Beach State College. I taught education courses for over fifteen years in the undergraduate and graduate levels.

My next venture was that of an author. My first two best selling books are "Tray Tasking" and "Three-Step Tray Tasking," both of which are used in our schools as teaching tools for our staff. My third book was a music curriculum "Journeys into Early Music," used as an important element in our Pre-K curriculum.

Throughout my 35 plus years in early childhood education, I have been surrounded by the best of the best. Every day brings a new opportunity to serve young children and their families. The curriculum I write is for every age group and our teachers make it come alive by tailoring it to fit the individual needs of the children we serve.
